Yoga Teachers’ Training Course

This Yoga Teachers Training Course is a profound, personal experience, based on the ancient gurukula teaching system, integrating the student’s daily life into the yoga training. By the end of the intensive four-week course the student will possess a firm foundation for teaching others, in addition to strengthening his or her own yoga practice with self-discipline and awareness of the nature of body, mind and spirit. Upon graduation from the course, students receive a certificate of qualification.

Satyananda Yoga Research Centre is a registered charitable trust formed for the purpose of propagating yoga, naturopathy, meditation, hypnotherapy, reiki, pranic healing etc . We have already conducted several Yoga Teachers Training Course during the last twenty five years. Men and women come from all around the world take part in the training, which is given in English language.

Opportunities to connect to your intuition, awaken your life energy, and enhance your personal aura. There will be lectures and workshops giving you the necessary theoretical skills to teach. You will also work in smaller groups to refine your practical skills. This course is also recommended for people who simply wish to experience Yoga at an in depth level. Intensive courses may be compared to the rapid methods of learning languages when living in a foreign country. During this intensive course, you will be living and practicing Yoga 24-hours a day, for four weeks.

QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION

The intensity of the training programme requires a high degree of discipline and commitment but mastery of yoga practices is not necessary. Yoga is about inner growth. Prior practice of asanas and meditation is preferable.

VENUE

The course will take place at Satyananda Ashramam, Perumanna, a beautiful place with the frontage of Chaliyar River. This ashramam is just 5 kilometers away from Calicut city.

Daily Schedule

6 - 8.30am Morning pranayama and Meditation Chanting, Lecture. Early morning is a time of strong spiritual vibrations; this will aid your meditation to grow deep and intense.

8.45 - 11am Yogasanas, Pranayama, Relaxation classes.

11 am Breakfast/Lunch.

12 noon Karma Yoga (selfless service), leisure time.

2.45 pm Lecture, Workshop.

5 pm Asanas, Pranayama, Relaxation,teaching skills in small groups of students.

6.30 pm Dinner, Leisure time.

8-10 pm Evening Meditation, Chanting, Lecture.

Course Fee: 1000 U.S. Doller - inclusive of Tution Fee, Exam fee, food, accomadation (dormatary)

Separate room facilities: Two persons will be accomadated ) 2000 U.S. dollers inclusive of Tution Fee, Exam fee, food.

Exam

There will be written and practical exams at the completion of Yoga Vidya Teachers’ Training Course.

Certificate

Upon completion of course and exam you will be awarded with the yoga teachers’ certificate by the Satyananda Yoga Research Centre. This certificate enjoys wide recognition.

Leisure

Thursdays are reserved for your leisure, from 9.30 am to 8.00 pm. There will be no classes.

Important information Attendance at all programme is mandatory. In order to maintain the proper atmosphere. Meat, fish, alcohol, tobacco, coffee, black tea, eggs, drugs and revealing clothing are not allowed. Their use may lead to dismissal from the course. The meals offered are lacto-vegetarian. We cannot cater to special dietetic needs during the course. The teachings of the course are based on the gurukula tradition, the classical way of transmitting spiritual knowledge in the yoga tradition. Its basis is a relationship of trust and mutual respect between the student and teacher, and aims at the complete development of the former: physical, mental and spiritual.
